Improve balance & coordination, breathe better & find inner harmony
Tai Chi can really enhance your enjoyment and understanding of the world around you. It leads to decreased stress levels and greatly improved coping mechanisms. Studying with Inner Depth will indeed help you to "Find Your Inner Depths". That is what we do. We help individuals to de-stress, move more freely and look inside themselves to seek inner peace.

Who is Tai Chi for?
Suitable for adults of all ages and abilities (especially if you’re a parent), our soft gentle classes work on harmonising Mind, Body and Spirit. The classes help improve postural alignment, balance and coordination. They are also particularly useful for those looking for long term health benefits.
It is recommended by many organisations including the NHS, British Heart Foundation, Royal Society of Physiotherapists, The Stroke Association, the MS Society as examples. It is also recognised as beneficial in countering the affects of dementia and Alzheimers.
"The depth of knowledge displayed in this ancient Art can only really be appreciated by doing classes. Excellent teaching specifically tailored to meet your needs and learning will help you on a journey of understanding in many ways."

Without regular classes I think I would seize up for sure
It is so easy to sit around all day as you get older. But do you get older because you stop exercising or do you stop exercising because you get older? I don’t know, but what I do know is that I can enjoy life a lot more now that I am more mobile and that is simply down to my Tai Chi training.
We always do a warm up which gently gets my body active (I actually do it every morning because it is so simple and it really does help me).
Then we do at least one breathing exercise which is great. They can be really soft or pretty forceful making the body use oxygen. I feel so much more relaxed after doing them. It really calms me down.
Then we do some of the Tai Chi form which is fascinating. It makes you work on your balance, keeps your brain working and it is great fun being in classes with people who want to learn like you do. I feel younger and part of something bigger.

Tai Chi is an ancient way for a modern world
I have been studying Tai Chi for over 15 years and it is often known as "Meditation in Movement". It has a sequence of gentle moves which allow you to explore even the slightest postural imbalance. This develops high levels of concentration, self-awareness and internal peace.
You get increased muscular strength, balance and co-ordination leading to a healthier, and longer, life.
We also do Breathing exercises. During, and after, practise you become re-energised which promotes your own natural energy, or Chi, as the Chinese say.

I always feel at peace after class and very grateful to have found this wonderful health system
I see Tai Chi as a positive lifestyle choice which really does help you to look after your own health. When they asked me my thoughts on it, well, I came up with:
1. By doing a combination of external and internal training it strengthens the overall condition of your Body
2. Practising the "form" together produces a deep-level of calm and connection with other people (Spirit)
3. The levels of concentration needed keeps you mentally alert and sharp (Mind)
Mind, Body and Spirit — there you are. Everything addressed in one go! I come out all classes always feeling better, more at peace and I am so thankful that I have something in my life which continually helps me.

If you are new to Inner Depth, you will have questions. The ones we hear from prospective students looking to attend their first Tai Chi class with us are listed below with appropriate answers.
We have a few different classes for "Tai Chi" so if you’d like to come along, do contact us using the "Try a Class for FREE" form and we can check availability and answer any other questions you may have. See you in class soon!
When are the classes?
We have various classes, daytime and evenings. Some are more suited to beginners so please contact us to discuss which class would be best for you.
Can I just turn up for my FREE session?
Before you can attend your FREE session, please contact us by filling in the "Try a Class for FREE" form. What have you got to lose? Come and see what our classes are all about.
What do I need to bring with me?
Clothing-wise — please make sure you are comfortable. We suggest a t-shirt, joggers and trainers to start with. And don’t forget to bring a drinks / water bottle so you stay hydrated.
How much does it cost?
You can pay weekly which is £9.00 per class. We understand that family life can sometimes get in the way, or you may do shift work so you are unable to commit to half a term at a time. So everyone has the option of weekly payments. However, we do encourage you, however busy your life is, to try and find that 1 hour a week that is “just for you”. You can leave any worries at the door and enjoy an hour of inner peace. If you are able to commit to paying for half a term at a time, the classes reduce to £8.00 per class, so it really is worth signing up.
I have no prior experience. Is that OK?
Yes. In nearly all of our classes we have at least 4 Instructors, so there is always an Instructor available to help you. We have ALL been beginners at some point, so please don’t feel nervous or anxious. We are here to help YOU.
What are Workshops & when are they?
We hold various workshops throughout the year, usually on either a Saturday afternoon or Sundays. These are a great opportunity to work with students and teachers from other classes and we are able to cover far more syllabus work as we are normally restricted to only an hours class. The workshops are normally 4 hours and you won’t believe how much we can cover in an afternoon.
I have more questions. Can I call you?
Yes of course. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have. Our contact number is 01803 431 847. You can also email us using the email adress: findme@inner-depth.com

Inspiring articles drawing on over 3,000 years of ancient knowledge combined with our own experience of teaching kids these principles for over 18 years.

An Ancient Way for a Modern World — Tai Chi
The balletic art of Tai Chi can often leave people confused. Is it a dance, a martial art, mystical exercises, for the elderly, or just something that very strange people do? Perhaps the following information helps: as an ancient Chinese exercise form developed over 3,000 years ago, Tai Chi is now highly regarded for its ability to improve general health and well-being.

What Are You Afraid Of?
I do like a saying that can really stimulate you, such as: "Do something every day that makes you afraid". It is a great way of making sure that you are living life to the full rather than just "getting by". It certainly doesn't mean you have to run back and forward across the by-pass or jump onto the railway line - it is all about stepping out of your "comfort zone".

Is Tai Chi for Me?
Someone was onto something when they said, "Never be afraid of dying, be very afraid of not living". Does this mean we have to spend all of our time "partying" - which is often a transient state? Or, do we take positive actions which underpin our health on every level in a long term sustainable way. Living your life to the full means that you are truly living your life now, and for the future, by nourishing your body on every level.
